Yoga and Road Construction
Do you ever have moments where you can’t do the thing?
You try. And you try. And it just won’t take?
I have struggled to write a blog post these last two weeks.
Even though I have an Excel spreadsheet of ideas for posts, and I tried writing a few, none sounded authentic.
So I decided to take a break.
And it’s been bothering me.
Why can’t I create?
Currently, I create posts that matter to me.
And it’s not that nothing matters at the moment.
It’s more like I can’t seem to sit with my thoughts and create.
Maybe it’s because I am currently in Mississauga, Canada.
I can’t say that I have spent much time with my thoughts since I arrived.
It’s been a lot of other stuff. Good stuff. But not much focus on my thoughts.
So, instead of scratching my head any longer, and even though I may not produce the good stuff here today, I will create something and call it practice.
Here is what practice looks like:
Classes at Power Yoga Canada
On and off, for the last 12 years, I have practiced yoga at Power Yoga Canada (PYC).
On this visit, I decided to join a PYC yoga studio I had never practiced at.
Things have changed in the PYC studio since my last visit.
Things have also changed outside the yoga studio (see: pandemic/COVID/coronavirus).
I wasn’t shocked to take note of classes that seemed less intense and more gentle.
I think a part of me is enjoying this approach.
I think this new approach will serve me well during my visit.
Less intensity. More gentleness.
Road Construction
Road construction seems to be everywhere in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Or maybe I have chosen to forget the world of road construction in the GTA.
Either way, I have had to practice patience on the roads.
It’s given me time to notice that there seem to be a LOT more Teslas and Lexus on the road in the GTA.
When did that happen?
Yoga and Road Construction. That’s what I have to offer this evening.
I know it isn’t much.
But maybe, after reading this, someone will decide to practice a bit more patience or gentleness today.
Or, at the very least, someone will tell me why there are so many Teslas and Lexus cars on the road these days.
